I weekly stationary - new members and new ideas
We welcomed new members of our computer Science Club KN Solvro with great joy!
The in-person meeting, conducted by our newly elected Board, was special because we had the honor of welcoming new members after the spring recruitment!
From the very start of the meeting, the atmosphere was full of positive energy. New members had the opportunity to introduce themselves and share their interests and expectations. We are impressed by their passion and commitment!
An important part of the meeting was the live status updates. Team leaders presented project progress, which allowed us to better understand where we are and what we still need to do to achieve our goals.
A key point of the meeting was also the presentation of new projects that we plan to implement in the near future. New members have already joined project teams and are starting their journey in KN Solvro, which will undoubtedly allow them to develop their skills and gain valuable experience!
After the meeting, we went for team integration. During the classic billiards, we got to know each other better, exchanged plans, and most importantly, integrated well for the upcoming years together in KN Solvro!
NEW PROJECTS
Implementation Projects
We decided to create three new implementation projects aimed at the development and integration of new members after the recruitment.
Each project is already in the conceptual phase. Project participants carefully plan future actions during meetings where so-called design thinking is conducted to address the specific needs of target users and provide practical and innovative solutions. Here are the details of our latest ventures:
Planner
Our goal is to create an intuitive web-based planner for class registration that will integrate with USOS and facilitate students in scheduling their classes.
-
Flexible user interface: Adapted for both desktop and mobile devices.
-
Quick response to user actions: The system is designed to efficiently handle concurrent operations from many users.
-
Seamless integration with USOS: Easy and smooth connection with the existing class registration system.
-
Free: The solution will be available for free to students of the Polytechnic.
CatchQR
CatchQR is an innovative mobile application designed for organizing outdoor games using QR codes.
Features:
-
Scanning QR codes at stations: Users will scan QR codes to proceed to the next stages of the game.
-
Creating games and stations: Users can create their own outdoor games and checkpoints.
The app is perfect for integration and orientation events for new students. It can also be used by Student Councils, schools, or other institutions to organize various events and outdoor activities.
Cube3D
Project description: Cube3D is an innovative project aimed at creating a programmable transparent cube filled with LED diodes. The project consists of two main stages, with the first focusing on building a simulator that enables users to control individual LEDs and create custom animations by writing their own programs.
Solution features:
-
LED Simulator: The project's first stage involves building a simulator that allows users to remotely control LEDs. Users can program the LEDs to create various animations and light effects.
-
3D Graphics Integration: The project enables the integration of 3D graphics and a code editor in a web application, allowing users to visualize and program LEDs in an accessible and interactive way.
-
Educational aspect: Working on Cube3D gives participants the opportunity to learn and apply tools for 3D graphics integration and LED animation programming.
Benefits:
-
Technical skills development: Project participants will gain practical knowledge in programming, 3D graphics, and integrating these technologies in web applications.
-
Creativity and innovation: The Cube3D project encourages creative thinking and experimenting with different light effects that can lead to innovative solutions and applications.
New Eventownik Project
Project description: Eventownik was created in response to the unsatisfactory and problematic process of event registration, including room reservations, bus seats, tables, and team games.
Solution features:
-
Participant groups: Enabling registration for groups of participants who want to register together with friends for chosen spots.
-
Efficiency and ease of use: System designed to make the registration process quick, simple, and trouble-free.
-
Scalability: Adapted to handle thousands of participants, which is necessary due to the large number of events organized at Wrocław Tech each semester.
Benefits:
-
Time savings: Participants can easily and quickly register for events, eliminating time-consuming and problematic aspects of previous solutions.
-
Increased satisfaction: Participants will be more satisfied with the registration process, leading to better organization and greater interest in events.
Planner, CatchQR, Eventownik, and Cube3D respond to the diverse needs of students, from improving the class registration process, organizing engaging outdoor games, to innovative logistical solutions. We believe these projects will bring many benefits to our users and constitute a valuable contribution to the development of our academic community and beyond!
