2025 – what a year it was! Year Summary in the Solvro Science Club
The moment we've all been waiting for has arrived – the summary of 2025! It was an intense year… so much so that it took all of January to write this article :)
The past months have been a time full of work for us, with continuous improvement – both for ourselves and our projects, along with many successes! It was a year full of challenges, co-organized events, winning hackathons, late-night talks, and moments where we simply felt we were doing something meaningful. The first months of 2025 clearly showed that we weren't planning to slow down.
Spring Awakening Post-Session
Spring was marked by conferences, meet-ups, and workshops that provided a tremendous amount of knowledge and inspiration.
In April, we participated in the Warsaw IT Days, where we focused on web trends and soft skills. Shortly afterward, we appeared at WITKoN, during which one of the club members – Bartek Gotowski, talked about the realities of entering the job market as a programmer.
That same month also brought us the Solana Uni Workshop, dedicated to blockchain and cryptocurrencies, and in one day, two events merged: WAIT AI Meetup and SolvroTalk with SuperTeam Poland, where we discussed artificial intelligence, Solana, and Web3.
May brought GHOST Day – a day filled with discussions on AI and modern technologies. Shortly afterward, in June, we co-created the PWr Challenge 2025 – workshops on artificial intelligence for high school students, carried out jointly with the Medical Faculty. It was one of those moments reminding us that technology can have a real impact and inspire future generations.
A Summer Full of Challenges!
When summer arrived, many of us didn't slow down. The Summer Challenge was a time where we could share our knowledge – both between sections and among new and senior students. Meanwhile, we organized a Hackathon for our wonderful event apprentices.
New Semester, the Same KN Solvro
In September, during the XXVIII Lower Silesian Science Festival, Daniel Borkowski, the head of the AI/ML section, delivered an introductory lecture for the youngest programming adepts into the world of artificial intelligence. It was one of those days that showed behind every algorithm there are people and their curiosity about the world.
During the Heart Day at the Medical University, we also concluded the project – the "Health Plays the First Fiddle" application.
In October, we participated in HackYeah – one of the largest hackathons in Europe. One of our teams managed to snatch the main prize in the Journey Radar category! Additionally, you could meet us at the ML in PL conference, dedicated to machine learning. And during BestHacks, our members acted as mentors, supporting others with their knowledge and experience.
There was no lack of meet-ups either – WAIT Meetup on quantum computing and AI in November was an exceptional opportunity to look toward the technologies of the future. Throughout the year, we also appeared at DAS-es and DAWiT-s, where you could get to know members of Solvro, learn more about the projects, and the recruitment process for the club. We were also present at Coinference, co-organized with SuperTeam Poland and HASA.
We closed the year with a bang – HackNation in December, where we were an event partner and co-creator of the finale, was a symbolic conclusion to an intense year.
Our Projects
Although the calendar was filled with events, a large part of 2025 was also daily project work. We developed research projects in the ML/AI section, as well as user and web initiatives. The following were created and developed:
- ToPWr – an application facilitating life at Wrocław University of Science and Technology,
- Planner – a web application to help organize class schedules,
- Testownik – a web application making studying for exams more enjoyable and easier,
- Eventownik – a web application supporting event organization,
- PWR Racing Team website,
- Juwenalia 2025 #WrocławRazem website.
Simultaneously, we engaged in international initiatives, including UNITE with Graz – Unite! Seed Fund for Student Activities, and carried out strategic activities, setting the direction for the club's development in the coming years.
Another Year, New Challenges
The year 2025 was demanding, but it gave us enormous satisfaction. It showed how much can be done when projects are backed by people with passion, energy, and the desire to act.
Therefore, one thing is certain – we're not stopping. We're entering 2026 with new ideas, plans, and motivation for further development.
For the upcoming year, we wish you health (because it truly plays the first fiddle), satisfaction from projects, the willingness to work, and flawless code.
And us? We keep pushing forward, stronger with each passing year.
