Predictive Maintenance, or a report from the co-organized WAIT AI Meetup #10
On April 15, 2025, the tenth edition of WAIT AI Meetup took place — an event gathering enthusiasts of artificial intelligence and modern technologies.
This time, we met within the walls of our Wrocław University of Science and Technology, as the KN Solvro had the pleasure of co-organizing this exceptional evening. During the event, we could listen to three incredibly interesting presentations by speakers from slashdev.team software house and Holiston Insight company, which supported the event not only with their knowledge but also by being its sponsor.
Wiktoria as the host of WAIT AI MEETUP
Our member, and until recently Vice President of KN Solvro — Wiktoria Mróz, performed as the host, ensuring the smooth running of the entire meeting and bringing a lot of good energy and professionalism to the event. As she later said: “It was a return to the microphone at larger events — something that has always been a lot of fun for me.” 🎤😊 Thanks, Wiktoria, for your involvement in organizing this knowledge-packed event!
The team from Wrocław AI Team was not let down by attendance — a new participant record was set, and a positive atmosphere accompanied the entire meeting. We are very happy that we could contribute to the organization of this event.
Holisticon Insight — AI in Practice
The first duo of speakers represented Holisticon Insight — an international company based in Wrocław, which combines artificial intelligence, IoT, and data analysis to create practical solutions for industries such as public transport, construction, and hygiene.
🎤 Łukasz Kmiec and Rafał Konklewski talked about the real challenges associated with predicting failures of autonomous robots that take over repetitive tasks in gardening and other fields.
Jakub Pietrucha, Piotr Herbut, and the power of public data
The second speaker of the evening was Jakub Pietrucha — co-founder of the slashdev software house, specializing in IoT and ML. In his presentation, Jakub focused on the question:
Can public data help predict machine failures? His presentation turned out to be a great combination of theory with practice — with a large dose of knowledge and accessible examples.
The meeting was complemented by Piotr Herbut — also representing slashdev.team — who shared his rich, 15-year experience at the intersection of research, engineering, and science. Piotr is involved in very interesting projects with literally out-of-this-world significance — one of them is a device for studying brain activity that will soon go to space along with a Polish astronaut. 🚀👨🚀
Predictive Maintenance, networking, and… pizza
The main theme of the entire meetup was Predictive Maintenance — predicting failures before they occur, with the help of AI algorithms and data collected from sensors. This approach, which saves time, money, and nerves, is increasingly being applied both in industry and in everyday life.
Apart from a solid portion of knowledge, there was also space for networking with pizza — an informal part of the event that allowed participants to exchange experiences and make new acquaintances in the AI world.
Thank you and… see you next time!
We all had a great time and gained a lot of new knowledge. This event showed that artificial intelligence is not just a trend, but concrete solutions implemented by passionate experts. 🔧💡 As Wojciech Krzos, the current president of KN Solvro, who participated as an audience member, recalls:
“You could feel the power of the WAIT community. It's great that we could collaborate on organizing this meeting. We are definitely looking forward to the next opportunities!”
We are extremely pleased to have had our share in this — both organizational and substantive. We thank all the speakers, participants, and partners. Special thanks to Wiktoria Mróz for hosting the entire event with class and a smile. 💙
Follow the upcoming events organized by the Wrocław AI Team — our members will surely appear, as we love such initiatives! 🤝🧠
